Rather than being pestered or irritated by her repetition, I allowed myself to hear and feel her and place each “I love you” declaration in my heart.
DEATH: A SOURCE OF CONNECTION AND DISCONNECTION
When a person experiences a death of a loved one, death can be a place of deep and profound connection to others, or disconnection. In my experience, few understood how to “be” with me in the midst of my loss.
AMBIGUOUS GRIEF
These fragile grief-filled moments of memory take my breath away. The particular actions like calling my dad after my travels halted with his passing. They remained stationary, frozen in time. I call this ambiguous grief.
THE LIFE OF DEATH
I could only feel and it felt like I was burning from the inside. As if someone started a fire inside my chest. Waves after Waves. I felt I was going to die as well. I wondered if this was a reaction or if this was my heart, actually giving out.
GRACIE: CLOWNING FROM THE INSIDE
I learned that having high stakes and risks meant that each moment is the only potential moment. That each moment is the present moment and it is all you have, it’s all any of us have. It means participating in the fullness and richness of each moment. Showing up in one’s vulnerability in the present moment is living at its loudest.
